AC Shadows Reveals Bizarre Attack on Titan Event for Thanksgiving
In a unexpected collaboration that breaks traditional forecasts, the game developer has announced an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, including complimentary bonus story content for Shadows players.
Strange Adventure Disclosed
According to the authorized announcement, "A strange meeting leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh quest, where hints of banned ceremonies and monstrous changes resonate through the shadows." The storyline features a "unusually attired woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with venturing into the Crystal Cave—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a secret cult.
The adventure centers on "strange trials and a terrifying adversary" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Familiar Places and Changes
The preview highlights the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was formerly where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer ends with a striking moment showing a character, presumably the hostage, transforming into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Items and Extra Material
Players who accomplish the adventure will receive an unique katana in addition to several artifacts concealed throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-based outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Unique implements
- Survey Corps mount
Latest Free Story Update
This release also adds the game's newest no-cost story addition, titled "The Mystery." This lighthearted adventure teams Naoe and Yasuke as they trade distinctive techniques: Naoe reveals a theatrical version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires subduing stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Mystery" also contains a original environmental puzzle that may ultimately explain some lingering questions from the main storyline.

This represents scarcely the first time the Assassin's Creed franchise has crossed over with famous anime properties. The series earlier featured a 2020 crossover story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Furthermore, Valhalla informally featured a quest that clearly echoed the popular series One-Punch Man.
