Around twenty-five thousand households in south-east Queensland woke up lacking electricity on Monday morning after powerful weather events passed over the area, generating wind gusts reaching 109km/h.

Large Ice Stones and Broad Destruction

Locals reported giant hailstones as large as seven centimeters in some areas. Meteorological experts announced that various areas across the state had been impacted by substantial ice precipitation.

Emergency crews were working to restore power throughout the impacted areas, with nearly 70 crews activated to address the extensive power failures.

Southern State's Storm Challenges

Simultaneously, around one thousand residents in Victoria also experienced electricity disruptions after the metropolitan area recorded its wettest day in a year and a half.

State Emergency Services received over five hundred emergency reports across the state, mostly for property damage but also for fallen timber and water accumulation.

• Wyndham - over 175 emergency requests

At one point on the previous day, over twenty-eight thousand power users in Victoria were experiencing outages.

Moist weather were predicted to continue along significant areas of the state's eastern regions this next several days as a atmospheric system continued to attract humidity against the shoreline.

The following day was expected to become the heaviest precipitation period, with persistent thunderstorm potential predicted across multiple regions of both states.

Public health experts alerted that there was an higher risk of weather-related respiratory issues across the countryside regions, particularly given the existing atmospheric conditions.
